Global imbalances are on the rise. After more than a decade of steady decline, current account balances have widened amid growing use of trade and industrial policies.

On April 15 at 2:00 PM ET, the IMF convenes a high-level panel to examine the risks, root causes, and policy options for achieving an orderly and sustainable adjustment. New IMF research on the drivers of imbalances will frame the discussion.

Speakers: Kristalina Georgieva, Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey, Kristin J. Forbes, and Adam Posen. Moderated by Greg Ip.
