About Us

mindGov™ is an independent commentary and analysis site. We publish content about how societies govern themselves, how cultures meet and change, and how ordinary people carry the weight of decisions made above them.

The name came from a simple question. Why do smart institutions, full of capable people, so often make decisions that hurt the people they claim to serve? We don't pretend to have a clean answer. We look at one system at a time, say plainly what we see, and try to be fair to the people we disagree with before we weigh them.

What we write about. Six subjects, all connected. World and culture, the wide view of how societies work. Governance and policy, the machinery of decisions and who they actually serve. Politics, the current fights, looked at closely rather than cheered or booed. Belief and society, the role of faith and conviction in public life, observed rather than judged. Crossings, the human material that moves between places and between the personal and the public: family, identity, mental health, the experience of MENA and Asia and the spaces in between. And commentary, where we write in our own voices about things we've lived.

Honest notes. mindGov is independent and ad-supported. We run advertising to keep the site going, and we sometimes embed publicly available videos from platforms like YouTube to discuss and analyze them. We don't host those videos; they stream from their original source, and the rights stay with their owners.
