This policy explains what mindGov™ collects and what we do with it. We've kept it plain. By using the site you agree to it. If you don't, please don't use the site.

Who we are. mindGov™ is an independent, ad-supported commentary site operated from the United States. Contact: [email protected].

Age. This site is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

What we collect. If you create an account, comment, or sign up for our newsletter, we collect what you give us: a username, an email address, and anything you write in a comment or submission. When anyone visits, our systems and service providers automatically receive standard technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived. This is normal for almost every website and is used to keep the site working and understand general traffic.

Third-party services we use. Google Analytics (general traffic; opt out via Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Google AdSense (ads; Google and partners use cookies to serve and measure ads, manage at myadcenter.google.com and youradchoices.com; policy at policies.google.com/privacy). Embedded videos (e.g. YouTube) may set their own cookies when you play them, governed by the host platform's policy.

Cookies and consent. We and our providers use cookies for basic function, analytics, and advertising. When you arrive, our consent popup lets you accept or manage non-essential cookies, and in regions that require it (such as the EU and UK) we ask for your consent before those cookies are set. You can also control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some may limit features like video playback.

How we use it. To run the site, show and moderate comments, send the newsletter if you asked, understand traffic, show ads, answer messages, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share with. Only the service providers above, each under their own terms; and anyone we're legally required to share with. That's it.

Your choices. Email [email protected] to see, correct, or delete your account information. Unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link in any email. Depending on where you live (EU, UK, California), you may have additional rights to access or delete data and opt out of targeted advertising; email us and we'll honor valid requests.

Security and retention. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website is perfectly secure. We keep information only as long as needed or as the law requires.
